Random thoughts...jewelry, music, trees...

March 14, 2009

Driving down the highway, I couldn’t help feeling sad looking at the trees…or lack thereof.  I could hardly recognize my own stomping ground...everything has changed so much.  What used to be lush green hills are now valleys with tractors, soon to be replaced with more buildings and highways.

With the bad economy, why don’t they build more sidewalks and bike paths instead?

I work 3 miles away from home but can’t walk to work without risks of getting run over by automobiles.  8 lanes aren’t enough, they have to widen to 10?!!

I feel sad for all the creatures that live in the woods, where will they go?

I was doing jewelry for shows to raise money for BIKES AND SANDALS (for Nghe-An’s children since I’ll be going back to VN again this summer) and WORKCAMP (building shelters for homeless in Winchester, VA also this summer) and the lack of trees prompted me to make this “Jeremiah Bullfrog” clasp and bracelet…(He’s not so much a bullfrog but I couldn’t think of a song w/ frog in it…so Jeremiah would have to be then.)  I don't think Jeremiah would complain...he’s made out of pure silver, carefully handcrafted one-of-a-kind, oxidized, polished (with love :)) by Tledc (me).  Took me a loooong time...but I've been pushing myself to make clasps since I love unique clasps on my jewelry pieces.

And my TLeDC website designed by VisualGui looks so much better than it did before but I haven’t been able to find the time to update it with new jewelry because I’ve been too busy playing music!

Chao for now… Have to go practice music…Duy & Vu & Thu Hoai sent me some great songs…they’ll be performing for Quan-Van 4/4/09...along with Ky` Duyen and other fine musicians!

More Earth Day clasps (and jewelry) coming up soon!

Have a peaceful day!  Life is good!  :)

  2. QH... yes...you are indeed an inspiration...somehow you've got it all down to the itsy bitsy...I am still struggling to juggle life, work,family..cant seem to balance them..

I love my walks to work...people ask me why I do it..even on rainy days..told them it relaxes me..no need to watch for cars..at traffic lights I would press...stay and rest awhile for the lights to change..and then go on..
the other day I had to take my car to work it was a real hassle..took me a good 10 minutes to weave around the traffic...then still had to go park my car..
