Lotus Collection 2

Got up at 5 am for this...wasn't sure if I could get up that early since I stayed up pretty late the night before trying to get ready for my VN trip...and had 2nd thought about cutting my sleep time short, but it was worth it. Even without coffee!

A few nature photographers beat us to this place with their zoom lenses and tripods. You can't help but take in a lungful of delicate fragrances released by the flowers, which permeated the cool fresh early morning air. A few geeze gazed at the flowers, admiring their own reflections in the water.

I love the dewdrops on lotus leaves...they danced around when the wind blows.

My First Day

Helloooo World,

My name is Mira Le Felde.  I'm 6lbs 4oz. 19". 

As Dad put it, I was "downloaded" today at 10:10am Thursday May 28, 2009 at Fairfax Hospital, VA, USA.  My mom went into labor around 1:30am with sporadic contractions, so they won a ticket to go to the labor room (they didn't get sent home, no, it wasn't a false alarm!)  And around 3:40am my aunt came in with her camera because my parents rushed out the door and forgot to bring theirs.  So here I am:

In case you didn't notice the pink cap...yes of course I'm a girl...Here I am again with Mom...(so you can see my pink cap!)

I was about 5 minutes old here, they put on me on a table and snip off my umbilical chord...didn't even hurt...they measured me...and put some gel in my eyes...yuck!

Everyone is healthy, I know I am, and I'm ssstarved...Here I am trying to suck on the blanket...I'm going to cry soon if I don't get to eat...

Whew...Mom finally fed me here (by the way, doesn't she look great?  And I'm her fourth!)

I'm tired now...Too much excitement, what a morning!  I'm getting very sleepy....

I received this story  from H. with a Happy Mother's Day wish.  H. would only sent me worth-reading articles, we're both terribly busy, and I must say I was a bit reluctant to open up this article to read.  So glad I did...I couldn't stop reading, and reread...the 4th time...with tears streaming down my face each time...I wanted to rush home and hold my children...and my parents...and my brothers and sisters...It moves me and makes me ponder all day...I wonder if I could be like John's mother, or like Henry, oh bless Henry!

Such a life worth living!

Flowers at River Bend and Arboretum

Strolling through fields of blue bells at River Bend, Great Falls, VA...Heaven is here and now! :) Very peaceful and quiet in the morning, the sounds I heard were from birds chirping, insects singing, and river water running downstream towards Great Falls (water fall.) What a beautiful place to be.

DC's National Arboretum - where the azaleas are in full bloom, lilacs and dogwoods too.

Great to be in or near Heaven but...Aaa-chhoo...I'm suffering from allergies today!
